Electronics and Household Hazardous Waste Collection in Bolingbrook

Will County is offering a one-day Electronics and Household Hazardous Waste Collection event in Bolingbrook. Appointments are required to keep all participants moving quickly through the event. Please pack your vehicle to have electronics and scrap metal items taken first and hazardous items taken last. Limit 2 TVs per vehicle and 15 gallons of paint and 15 fluorescent tubes per vehicle)

Will County has implemented an appointment system to improve all participants drop-off experience. The system is intended to provide predictable lines and smoother service. This system has proved to be very successful at keeping participants' service time efficient since 2018.

Please remember to pack your vehicle so Electronics may be removed first, then proceed to the Household Hazardous collection area for those items to be removed. At no time should you need to get out of your  vehicle.

The appointment system has closed. and after review, the staff has determined that we will accept materials from residents without an appointment after 12:30pm on Saturday, May 3. The event is being held at the Bolingbrook Village Hall parking lot. Signs will be in place. Electronics will be taken first and then participants may proceed to the Household Hazardous Waste station or leave. Will County partners with the Regional Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off in Naperville they are open each weekend to accept many items. Please click to view the current IEPA Household Hazardous Waste Regional Site information. (They do NOT accept latex paint but a statewide program for all paint is expected to open late in 2025)

 

 

Electronic Items Accepted include: Televisions (limit 2), Computers, laptops, tablets, notebooks, monitors, printers, copiers, mice, speakers, cameras, video cameras, telephones, answering machines, microwaves, radios, stereos, vacuum cleaners, toaster ovens, blenders (no glass), coffee makers (no glass), power tools, etc. 


Small scrap metal items also accepted at this event.

HHW Items Accepted include: All types of paints/stains (limit 15 gallons), Old/Unwanted medication, Paint thinners, Solvents, Drain cleaners, Cleaning products, Rechargeable batteries, Mercury & mercury items, Aerosol paints & pesticides, Lawn & garden chemicals and fertilizers, Used oil, Used oil Filters, Old gasoline, Antifreeze, Automotive/ Boat batteries, Fluorescent light bulbs (limit 15), Compact fluorescent bulbs, Pool chemicals, Driveway Sealer, Vapes.

Items NOT Accepted include: Fireworks/ Explosives, Agricultural wastes, Fire extinguishers, Ammunition (check with your local police department), Radioactive material, Institutional wastes, Controlled substances, Alkaline batteries, Business wastes, Regular garbage, Tires, Smoke/CO detectors, Medical waste/Sharps, Gas cylinders, Appliances, Dehumidifiers.
