Spring 2026 Recyclepalooza: Hazardous Waste, Electronics, Wood, & More Drop-Off Event

Collection of nearly all types of electronics and household chemicals, hazardous materials and liquids. Wood, scrap metal, foam, and donations of clothing, toys, cookware. There is a limit of 3 TVs per vehicle, 15 gallons of paint, and 15 light bulbs. Volunteers needed.

Bring unwanted electronics, household chemicals (such as paints, stainss and varnishes, along with oil, antifreeze, old gasoline, brake fluid, pesticides, fertilizers, cleaning products), all batteries, and clothing, wood, carpet, padding, expanded polystyrene foam, along with scrap metal (hangers, old keys, tools, car parts, siding). Items for donation include reusable clothing, toys, small home goods, and cookware. 

Items NOT accepted include: fireworks/explosives, agricultural wastes, fire extinguishers, ammunition (check with your local police department), radioactive material, business/institutional wastes, controlled substances, regular garbage, tires, smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, medical waste/sharps, gas cylinders, appliances (dehumidifiers, refrigerators). For donations, please do not bring books, large furniture, furniture requiring assembly, or broken appliances (except for electronics recycling).

Pack your vehicle to be unloaded in the following order:

Electronics, Household Hazardous Waste, Polystyrene Foam, Scrap Metal, Wood, Donations

Will County uses an appointment system to improve participants experience at our popular collection events. The system provides participants with predictable lines and smoother service. We appreciate everyone's effort to bring materials to this event and to make an appointment and adhere to their appointment time

Will County partners with the Regional Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off in Naperville, which is available each weekend (except holiday weekends) to accept many items. Please click to view the current IEPA Household Hazardous Waste Regional Site information for specific locations and dates.

DART partners with Will County for our Recyclepalooza to accept many clean polystyrene items. They have a program open to the public 24/7 in North Aurora. Please click our Foam Plastic link for information.

We offer a list of clean wood and scrap metal providers on our website search feature which also includes lists of donation locations. (There usually is a fee to recycle wood.)
