Get Involved-Community Participation
A successful update of the zoning and building ordinances will involve the whole community, and reflect the recommendations outlined in the County's Land Resource Management Plan. That's why it is so important for everyone to learn about and contribute to the process. There are multiple ways you can get involved, to learn more about opportunities for Will County in the future, and to make sure that your ideas are heard.
Project Website: This website is your central source of information on meetings, documents, and contacts. Please visit us often, contribute your ideas, and sign up for email alerts. You can also send us an email at ordinanceupdates@willcountygreen.com if you have any questions or comments.
Public Meetings: The Land Use Department is coordinating the project with the County Board's Ordinance Review Subcommitee (ORS). ORS meetings are public meetings that will be posted, and will include public workshops and public hearings.
Stakeholder Representatives: Groups of knowledgeable people from the public, private and non-profit sectors were involved in the initial stages of the project through stakeholder meetings.
