Environmental education increases public awareness and knowledge about the world in which we live. In doing so, we can provide the public with the necessary skills to make informed decisions and take responsible actions.
Will County offers a variety of educational opportunities for all ages. Our staff attends events throughout the year, setting up an educational table display or providing presentations.
We are proud to offer environmental education programs to all schools in Will County. Teachers may request classroom presentations during the school year. These fun-filled classes will engage the students and encourage them to consider ways to better the environment through resource/energy conservation and recycling.
Will County created the Earth Flag School Program nearly twenty years ago to teach students about the importance of protecting their environment. The enthusiasm of the schools, teachers and students has been overwhelming as the program continues to grow.
