This free event, sponsored by Engineering Resource Associates will feature a range of informative environmental education displays; vendors offering sustainable products and services; and fun games, activities and entertainment for all ages. This event is also being supported by Unilock, Working Bikes, Hitchcock Design Group, Pizzo, The Enterprise and Upland Design.

Recycle Electronics at the Plainfield United Methodist Church from 9:30am to Noon. A box for used batteries will also be available for recycling.

Textile Collection at the County Office Building Monday through Friday during normal business hours in ccoperation with USAgain. This event will accept clothing, tableclothes, linens, drapes, towels, shoes, and more. Bring items for reuse and recycling. See Scott Slocum from WJOL AM1340 on Friday morning 6am-9:00am

Bring unwanted electronics and household chemicals such as oil-based paint, stains and variishes, along with oil, antifreeze, old gasoline, brake fluid, pesticides, fertilizers, cleaning products and more to this one-day collection event. It is free of charge for Will County residents. Other items include: pool chemicals, recharagable batteries, lead-acid batteries, compact fluorescent lights, aerosol products & lawn chemicals. Special recycling options for clothing, foam plastic, scrap metal.

Multiple organizations joining efforts to create a sustainabiliy fair for the whole family. This 3rd annual event features entertainment, information booths, recycling and more. 2012 Event moving from Black Road Library to Joliet Jr. College.

Residents are invited to bring books and magazines to share or recycle to this three day event at Pilcher Park in Joliet. Confidential documents are also welcomed for certified destruction. This event is FREE of charge.

In Bolingbrook, at the Hidden Oaks Park there will be an inaugural Earth Aid event from 11am-3pm. People of all ages are invited to learn about eco-friendly local vendors, meet actual bats that safely rid the area of mosquitoes and pick up some free samples with some green tips.

The Frankfort Square Park District will be offering an Earth Celebration at the Community Center and Island Prairie Nature Center from 1pm to 4pm. Activities will be held rain or shine.

The Plainfield Library invites families to drop in between 10am – 2pm on Saturday, April 21 to celebrate Earth Day with some recycling and education offerings.

Solar Social is an ISEA event to foster Solar Community
Open to both the public and ISEA members
Meet at Freedom Field in Rockford for the opportunity to tour an integrated renewable energy system
Staff representatives and ISEA Board members will be in attendance to answer questions about the state of solar energy in Illinois.

“Living Downstream”, a documentary film based on Dr. Steingraber’s first book, will be shown at 1 p.m. in D-2002. The film will be followed by a discussion.
