New Lenox Recyclepalooza: Hazardous Waste, Electronics, Wood, & More

Drop off nearly all types of electronics and household hazardous items, as well as scrap metal, wood, foam, and food/clothing donations. Limit 3 TVs and 15 gallons of paint per vehicle. ID required. We serve all Will County residents and residents outside Will who live in communities partially within Will County.

Bring unwanted electronics/batteries, household chemicals (such as paints, stains, auto fluids, lawn and cleaning products), scrap wood, expanded polystyrene foam, scrap metal (such as hangers, old keys, tools, car parts), and items for donation (such as reusable clothing, toys, small home goods, and cookware).
Some items NOT accepted include: fireworks/explosives, agricultural wastes, fire extinguishers, ammunition (check with your local police department), radioactive material, business/institutional wastes, controlled substances, regular garbage, tires, smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, medical waste/sharps, gas cylinders, appliances (dehumidifiers, refrigerators). For donations, please do not bring books, large furniture, furniture requiring assembly, or broken appliances (except for electronics recycling).
Please pack your vehicle to be unloaded in the following order:
- Electronics
- Household Hazardous Waste
- Polystyrene Foam
- Scrap Metal
- Wood
- Donations
Will County uses an appointment system to improve participants experience at our popular collection events. The system provides participants with predictable lines and smoother service. We appreciate everyone's effort to bring materials to this event and to make an appointment and adhere to their appointment time.

Please be aware that if you are unable to attend this event, other options accept items for recycling and safe disposal year-round:
- Electronics:
- Household Hazardous Waste (automotive fluids, cleaning products, lawn chemicals, and more):
- Will County partners with the Regional Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off in Naperville, available each weekend to accept many items. Please click to view the current IEPA Household Hazardous Waste Regional Site information.
- Paint and paint-related products:
- Many retail sites around Will County now accept household paints and other products through the PaintCare program. Please view our Paint Recycling page for more information.
- Expanded polystyrene foam ("Styrofoam"):
- DART accepts many clean polystyrene items through their program open to the public 24/7 in North Aurora. Please click our foam link for information.
- Fire extinguishers (not accepted at Recyclepalooza or other one-day events):
- Will County and local partner sites accept expired and unused fire extinguishers for recycling at various locations. Please view our Fire Extinguisher Recycling page for more information.
- Other:
- Will County has a list of clean wood, scrap metal, and donation drop-off options on our website search feature. (Note that there is usually a fee to recycle wood.)
