Drop off clean clothing, blankets, tablecloths, linens, drapes, towels, shoes, and more for reuse and recycling at the County Office Building parking lot on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 9 AM to 2 PM. Please no items containing mud, mold, or other contamination! No appointment is required.
Recycle old shoes, clothes, and other textiles at the County Office Building parking lot on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 9 AM to 2 PM, in cooperation with Helping Hands. No appointment is required.
Helping Hands supplies thrift stores with a wide selection of clean secondhand clothing, keeping more than millions of pounds of reusable goods from reaching landfills each year.
This event will accept the following clean items in good or torn, stained and poor condition. Items with mold, mud, dirt, excrement, or other contamination will NOT be accepted.
- Clothing and Accessories
- Coats and jackets
- Shirts, blouses, sweaters, tops of any kind
- Pants (office pants, jeans, etc.)
- Socks and shoes (boots, sneakers/gym shoes, etc.)
- Dresses and skirts
- Hats and belts
- Neckties and scarves
- Gloves and mittens
- Jewelry
- Wallets
- Suits and other formal wear
- Swimsuits
- Undergarments
- Baby/infant clothing
- Bags (backpacks, purses, handbags, computer bags, tote bags, luggages)
- Home Items (made of fabric)
- Drapes and curtains (including shower curtains)
- Tablecloths
- Towels and washcloths
- Bedding (sheets, pillow covers, blankets, quilts)
- Sleeping bags
- Sofa covers
- Small area rugs and floor mats
- Other House Items
- Home/wall decor
- Pictures and artwork
- Vases
- Baskets
- Books
- Toys (plastic/wooden/plush/stuffed toys, baby toys, dolls)
- Games (with all associated pieces)
- Office supplies
- Dishes and drinking glasses
- Kitchen utensils, holders, and shakers
Please do NOT bring any of the following:
- Mattresses
- Furniture
- Large electronics (TVs, refrigerators, microwaves, etc.)
- Paints
- Cleaners and liquids
- Wet, moldy, or otherwise contaminated clothing
A Helping Hands truck will be onsite in the parking lot with a table where all clothing and other textile items may be placed.
