Styrofoam is a trademarked name for polystyrene that has had air blown into it (also known as PS or #6).  It is a plastic that is not easily recycled, but there is a drop-off outside Will County in North Aurora. This drop-off is operated by

This site accepts food service items (Plastic # 6 in foam form), such as:
empty cups
rinsed foam plates
take-out containers
rinsed meat-trays
foam egg cartons

Dart separately accepts some packaging items (no peanuts or items treated with flame retardants).
You must bag the material in clear plastic bags, labeled with your name and/or organization and telephone number.

This recycling program is not affiliated with Will County and may be revised or terminated without notification. The Will County Land Use Department provides this as an informational service only.
